Now that General Christopher Musa has been made the new Minister of Defense, there are a lot of expectations from Nigerians across board- most especially from young Nigerians.
In this blog post we will look at the few things we believe he should do to bring back sanity to our national security;
1. Since he now occupies the political position of our national security we believe that it will be easier to formulate policies that will improve the operations of our military and other security agencies.
2. As a former Chief of Defense Staff, we believe he already knows the challenges bedeviling the command and control systems of the military, we think that he ought to make it easy and effective.
In one of his last outings as the country’s CDS, he told soldiers not to wait for orders before shooting the terrorists.
3. Since at this political level he will have the ears of the president, military operations ought to be quick and swift. Also the security of the nation will be the first thing in his heart unlike when a non security personnel occupies that position; the person only thinks contracts and his pockets.
4. Prior to his retirement, he was highly respected by his colleagues and subordinates, we strongly believe that he still is, and as a result there will not be any difficulty in getting the military chiefs to work in unity.
5. Nigerians just want an end to this nonsense and madness going on in the country.
President Tinubu what is Mattawale still waiting for?
Why has he not resigned on health grounds?
